OKCPS Long Range Facilities Master Plan
preparing a pathway to GREATNESS
The Oklahoma City Public School Board hired ADG Blatt to perform a long-range facilities master planning assessment and recommendation. The program, branded as the "Pathway to Greatness," included a complete demographic study and facility assessments with estimated costs. The scope incorporated prioritizing projects required for future bond consideration based on the facility audits.
As part of this effort, the Board developed and approved a Facilities Master Planning Policy, which consisted of nine key data points to be used in three scenarios for redistricting. Examples of these criteria include academic performance, facility utilization rate, demographics, physical plant, legal obligations, safety, location, community services and program offerings. ADG Blatt gathered and compiled these data points for each school and released them for public consumption. This data was used to develop three independent facility scenarios for school closures, repurposing, reconfiguration and surplus. These recommendations were narrowed to one final path that the Oklahoma City School Board voted unanimously to implement in March 2019.
