Gross Skills Development Room

Sunbeam Family Services provides educational services to students with significant medical, orthopedic and development needs in addition to those without those needs offing rigorous academic curriculum to help support their continued growth. ADG Blatt worked with Sunbeam to create a gross motor skills room to help develop movement skill and physical activities.

ADG Blatt’s interior renovation converted the Pierce Elementary School’s cafetorium to a gross motor skills room that features design and activities to promote physical movement and activity. The 1,600 square-foot space features carpet tile flooring with gel tile accents, felt ceiling sound clouds, or sound baffles, that both add to the aesthetic of the room, and help dampen loud noise. Additionally, the gross motor skills room had a wide range of interactive furniture including a tree bench. ADG Blatt’s interior design team worked with educators to ensure that the students physical and developmental needs are met.
